Volunteer Transportation Services Training

February 16 at 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Join us for VTS Volunteer Training!

Volunteer Transportation Services (VTS) is a new transportation service for older adults, people with disabilities and veterans. VTS is now recruiting volunteer drivers. Volunteers complete an in-person orientation, a criminal & driving background check and complete a drug screening. Make a difference! Become a volunteer today!

Who can qualify as a driver?    What about insurance?
Any adult, 21 years or older, with a good drivers record, a safe and insured vehicle, and a standard NC drivers license may volunteer. All volunteers are covered with $1 million in    supplemental liability insurance.
How long of a time commitment is required?    What will I receive as a volunteer?
You can volunteer when you want, as much as you want. It’s up to you!    We hold regular volunteer recognition events.    We also reimburse drivers for miles driven.
Is there training involved?    What kind of skills do I need?
All volunteer drivers must complete an initial orientation training. Volunteers must pass a driving record and criminal background check as well as drug screening.    VTS is all about helping people in a prompt,    courteous and reliable manner. Safe driving and    customer service skills are important to making    each trip a success.
