In Union County, there are more than 700 residents living in the county’s seven nursing homes. Currently, neither of the Union County Community Advisory Committees has enough volunteers to visit these residents as required by State law. Volunteers with this program meet a very special need by serving some of the most vulnerable citizens in our community.
Do you have a heart for visiting long-term care residents? Community Advisory Committee (CAC) Members are volunteer advocates who are trained by the Ombudsman Program and appointed by their County Commissioners. Members serve in their county of residence on either the Nursing Home CAC or the Adult Care Home CAC.
